1. after each use, the payment terminal is sprayed down with 70% Isopropyl alcohol.
2. the studio iPad is used by staff only, to enter transactions into the POS and must be wiped down every transaction.
3. the cash desk counter is wiped down after each transaction, and deep cleaned at the end of each day.

makeup brushes

1. each time a brush or palette is to be used; it is a clean, unused, and sanitized. each tool is used only once
2. after a tool is (touched, picked up, or used), it is left with the dirty brushes and palettes, not to be used again until it is properly washed and UV sanitized
3. when cleaning a batch of tools, we fill the brush tub with hot water, and add 20 ml of antibacterial laundry detergent and let the brushes soak for 5 minutes
4. using a antibacterial bar soap, we lather and clean the bristles on the soap, and use the lather to wash the body and barrel of the brush. Repeated until all residue is gone. Either antibacterial laundry detergent or bar soap is used for cleaning the palettes
5. brushes are rinsed out, making sure no soap, product, oil, or residue of any kind is left on the brush (or palette)
6. washed tools are dried on a clean towel (using a fresh towel for every brush batch)
7. tools are placed in the UV machine and run a 15-minute cycle. After the cycle, they lay flat on the towel to air out
8. finally, the entire brush or palette is sprayed with alcohol, focusing on the bristle area and surface of the pallet

re-usable cloth and pads

1. large cloths are for dusting, cleaning, and polishing, and are used throughout the course of a day to accomplish the day’s cleaning tasks. Large cloths are put in the laundry bin at the end of use
2. designated small cloths and pads are for makeup removal use only. Each cloth or pad is used by one client only. Once used, 70% Isopropyl Alcohol is sprayed on the pad and then placed in the laundry bin
3. once a week, the dirty laundry is collected and washed at 60 degrees Celsius on a sanitary or heavy-duty cycle
4. immediately after being washed, they are dried on a heavy duty setting at maximum heat
5. once they are returned to the studio, the cloths and pads are folded and placed in the UV machine for a 15-minute cycle and stored in a clean drawer

1. testers are checked for smell, buildup, irregularities, and wiped down with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol for fingerprints, dirt and spout buildup after each use and deep cleaned weekly

2. exposed layers of pressed powders are removed, and creams are scraped down weekly

4. liquid and cream products are to be pumped/scooped onto a clean, sanitized palette, and then sampled. Pressed powders are to be sanitized regularly and sprayed with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol before use. After use of a pressed powder it must be sprayed again with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol
5. lipsticks are sprayed with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol and wiped on a tissue to sanitize before any client samples and then sprayed with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol after

additional studio cleaning

storage
1. brushes are stored in a drawer designated for brushes and products use for front studio. this drawer is out of reach of clients and will only be accessed by an HBA or EMUA
2. the brush drawer is wiped down daily
3. hair clips are sprayed with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol after each use
4. all disposable wands are stored face down, and when staff is restocking the pots, their hands are washed and sanitized
5. all pots are thoroughly washed on a weekly basis

makeup application tester tools
1. extra “application” testers are kept in a clean sanitized drawer away from clients. these are to be used when sampling makeup, rather than using open product from displays
2. testers are kept in the drawer and are not touched by clients and only used for sampling
3. after each application, the tester is sanitized, closed, and then returned to its drawer
4. pencils are sharpened and sanitized or twisted up and sanitized, before and after sampling

team habits

1. the team washes and sprays down their hands at the beginning of their shift, after eating, between helping clients, going to the washroom, going back and forth between the back room, and touching cash
2. after every interaction with a client or product, staff wash their hands or at least sanitize them with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol

1. the floors are swept and mopped daily
2. the kettle, laundry bins, water filter, and other tools are cleaned after every use
3. dusting, sanitization, and standard cleaning of the studio is completed on a daily basis
4. counters, and all high touch points are wiped down several times throughout the day with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol as clients and staff cycle in and out of the studio
5. the UV machine is dusted, wiped down, and cleaned with alcohol after every use
6. displays are wiped down and sanitized with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol daily
