Derived from 100% grass-fed beef, tallow is unparalleled in its ability to calm eczema, rosacea, dermatitis, acne, and other inflammatory skin issues. It provides a natural protective barrier that mimics your own skin's sebum. We’ve taken our Canadian, grass-fed tallow and combined it with extra-virgin olive oil. Like tallow, it features high levels of antioxidants and essential fatty acids, helping to protect and nourish skin.

Texture: Prairie Farmapothecary Body Tallow Balm is rich, smooth, and concentrated. Only a small amount of product is needed with each use. If it experiences warm temperatures, the tallow will liquify. This doesn’t affect the beneficial properties of the ingredients. Simply let it harden again at room temperature or in a refrigerator.

Scent: Our Body Tallow Balm smells sweet and herbaceous. The simple combination of sweet orange and lavender essential oil is both calming and refreshing.

About Tallow: Uniquely compatible to our own skin's biology, tallow is comprised of 50% saturated fat. Our skin's cell membranes are also composed of 50% saturated fat, which makes tallow a nourishing food for our skin. Grass-fed tallow is also loaded with vitamins A, D, E, and K. Prairie Farmapothecary tallow is sourced from small, independent and regenerative farms and beef processors in our local area.
